A new tourist spot in Misamis Oriental province in the island of Mindanao, Philippines has recently been open to the public. It is located in the municipality of Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental.
The Halseyle Hill is a picturesque place on the hills of Poblacion Sugbongcogon. It has a breathtaking view of Macajalar bay with the Island-born of fire, the island of Camiguin.
Halseyle Hill is used to be a gamefowl farm of former mayor Jerome P. Lagbas. He started breeding fighting cock in the year 1997 with a bloodline of “Halsey Lemon”, a famous fighting cock bloodline from the late “Boyboy Roa”. In December 1999, JPL Gamefowl Farm joined a 3-cock derby at Carmen, Agusan del Norte with 3 entries and emerged as the champion. Coincidentally former mayor Jerome Lagbas 4th child was also born on that day and to highlight the successful performance and the winning steak of his fighting cock, He named his daughter “Halseyle”

How to get there? If you came from Cagayan de Oro City, it is around 70 plus kilometers to the Municipality of Sugbongcogon and before reaching the town proper, just a few meters from the boundary of the Municipality of Binuangan, watch out for the “Halseyle” sign and direction on the left side of the highway and turn right upon reaching the sign. It is around one kilometer going up the hill with paved road and some little stip curves that you need to maneuver using the first gear of your car.
