We are in a difficult situation right now because of Covid-19. Here is a guide on how to make your own disinfecting solution to use in your home to avoid possible contamination.

Household chlorine bleach like Chlorox which is a brand but which is what we know popularly is a powerful disinfectant that is inexpensive, easy to obtain, and strong enough to kill dangerous germs.

To make your disinfectant spray solution mix 1 part bleach and 9 parts water. So if you have a 500 ml sprayer mix 3 to 4 tablespoon to the water. This mixture is used to disinfect healthcare facilities that may have tainted by contagions.

Be sure to mix this solution in the outdoor or a well-ventilated room because full-strength bleach emits toxic fumes. Never mixed other ingredients.

Use it to spray your front porch of the house, your shoes or slippers that you use when you go out. Don’t place your spray in direct sunlight since chlorine bleach solutions begin to lose its disinfectant power quickly when exposed to heat and evaporation. To ensure effective strength you can mix a fresh batch every day and just discard the leftover on the outdoor floor.

Keep safe everyone and stay home so we can all fight this Covid-19 crisis we are experiencing.
