CANTAGO is a term (portmanteau) for ‘CANdelaria sa TAGOloan.’ It is a religious festival and a thanksgiving celebration, honoring the bountiful blessings from Nuestra Sra. Maria de la Candelaria, also known as Our Lady of the Candles.

It is a weeklong celebration starting in the last week of January and culminating in the town fiesta on February 2.

Tagoloan is a municipality located in the province of Misamis Oriental, Philippines. It is known for the location of PHIVEDIC Industrial Estate and the Mindanao International Container Terminal. The town is situated along the northern coast of Mindanao Island, facing the Bohol Sea. Aside from being an industrial municipality, agriculture is also the primary livelihood source for its residents, with coconut, rice, and corn as the major crops.
