by Mike A. | Aug 29, 2019 | Eat + Drink

Babu Kwan the Moro-themed restaurant in Cagayan de Oro City offers its newest special meals on their menu, the 5 Asian Plates. One of them is its Nasi Kerabu, the rice is colored blue using the natural color of the flowers with healing powers.

Blue ternate flower or also called butterfly pea tea or Clitoria ternatea (commonly known as butterfly pea) is more than just a blue flower. It is a natural memory booster, antioxidant, anti-glycation, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, prevents fatigue, analgesic, anti-asthmatic, reduces stress and anxiety, good for the skin and hair and anti-ulcer.

The healthy blue rice is paired with fried wild-caught tilapia. Enjoy the meal with hard-boiled egg, crunchy prawn crackers (kropek), sweet-spicy peanuts and anchovies, fresh slices of cucumber and tomatoes with sambal on the side.

Nasi Kerabu will be available together with the other Asian plates for a limited time. Only available at Babu Kwan, a halal-certified restaurant in the city. Visit them now and enjoy the traditional Moro cuisines in Northern Mindanao. They are located at Aguinaldo and Yacapin Streets just near Trinidad Building.
